Far out

We went to see Brooke Fraser's Albertine tour last night at the Opera House. My god, it was amazing. It makes me feel like I'm 11 again, you know that stage you have when you completely idolize/adore/admire someone and go all gooey when you hear/see them. She is absolutely amazing and I loved every millisecond of it. I was enchanted the whole time she was on stage and I'm pretty sure Adrian was too. The set was cute - had heaters and armchairs and such, to make it look like an old 1950s living room. The drums and music was amazing (i'm aware I'm using that word a lot) - even more so than on the album (which I love).

The emotion in her voice/performance makes you feel what she feels - I'm aware this is sounding cheesey but I just can't believe that someone so talented comes from just around the corner! (She grew up in Lower Hutt and went to Naenae College). By the end of the first song I had my $45 worth, for sure. BUT she played every song off Albertine except my very favourite - Love is Waiting. Not to worry! She played all the others that I absolutely love also. I'm absolutely in awe, floored, amazed (again), humbled and every other similar adjective. I found something to support me: from thesaurus.com

There. All of that and then some. Except maybe petrified! And possessed (that's a little scary).

Sooo. Enough of my obsession (oo! another good word). Yesterday I had another day at the Zoo. We got to see Serval kittens! Sooooooooo cute. Was annoyed cos I didn't know we were going to get to see them, otherwise would have taken my proper camera. Alas, you will have to settle for pics from my phone (technology these days...). They are about 6 months old and can jump 2.6m already! Crazy a. I had a cute group at the zoo and had rather a good day even though I was quite tired. Also got to pat a blue-tongued skink! He was about 40cm long and 32 years old and gorgeous.

I set up a guestbook for people to sign but it hasn't come on the blog yet so after this I will see if I can sort it out.

PS. TelstraClear are having a bad week. Advice: don't be tempted to swap to TelstraClear just because a nice man comes to the door with good offers. Adrian and I were on hold for an hour and 5 minutes the other day... had to hang up because we needed food! Ridiculous.

Think that's all for now. Hope you're enjoying our blog!

PPS. Another photo of Bean. Gosh he is handsome! (we think so).
