Last night I made the bestest chocolate cake ever. Well our wierd oven kind of mucked it up, because it was meant to have 30min at 180 degrees but after about 55min it still wasn't done! All good, Adrian and I were impatient and took it out anyway. I had previously prepared the smoothest, best ever chocolate butter icing with - wait for it - BAILEYS! It was soooo yum. So I iced it and we ate some while it was hot. I tell you, it was amazing. It didn't look that pretty, but my god it was definitely restaurant quality. Better than the chocolate dessert I had at the Tasting Room a while ago, considering I got a complimentary piece of onion inside it! Wierd. It was really good, but the onion kind of ruined it, needless to say.
So, I'm still sick and having today off work as well. I'm hoping that I'll be better tomorrow cos I really can't afford more than 2 days out of my pay (although I'm not sure how it works because I'm on salary for the first time in my life, but still only been there for 2.5 weeks...). I feel like yesterday was my hump day though and therefore I will be better by tomorrow (the power of thought).
My day off is conveniently the release date of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I was going to put a Wikipedia link in there, but I just checked it out and it says details of the plot follow, so I will save you the pain. It is officially released now, I think I will sneak down to Whitcoull's after this blog and go pick up my pre-ordered copy. I'm planning on doing nothing else today but reading, and I think once I start I will have trouble thinking about anything else. I have just refreshed myself by reading the Wikipedia plot overview of The Half-Blood Prince which has got me all excited. I wonder how fat the new one is? I'm currently reading Diana Gabaldon's Dragonfly in Amber which is the 2nd book in a series but it's kind of hard to get into. It will be put on hold for HP anyway.
By the way, I came up with a new Theory of Creation (inspired by the Swarm Theory article in the latest National Geographic). It's kind of Matrix-y but I swear I didn't realise that until I was explaining it to Adrian. It's kind of hard to explain but I know you are all dying to know so I'll try real hard for you.
So, what happens is that there are millions (nay, billions) of 'Earths' out there which are inhabited by civilisations parallel to ours. The aim, which the inhabitants are ignorant of, of each civilisation is to spawn a million (nay, a billion) more 'Earths' when their knowledge reaches its maximum. In other words our world was created by a parallel 'human' from a parallel 'Earth' (one of the most intelligent of her kind) and everything we do is dictated by her and her minions (hence fate, and when she f***s up - she gets sick too, dammit - things go awry. She had pneumonia when Bin Laden was born *woops* and polio when Adolf Hitler rose to power but because she's immortal she rises out of it all). Then, when the knowledge of our inhabitants reaches a maximum, the most intelligent of our kind (Adrian?) will go and create their own 'Earths' and the cycle starts again.
I guess the flaw is that it still doesn's solve the original creation. But then nothing really does explain that, does it? Hmm?
I hope you enjoyed that. I want to go to Whitcoull's but I think the queue might be still too long.
Hmmm what else do I have to say... Mum, who does that remind you of?!
Adrian and I have finalised our guest list. Oooooooooooooooo I hear you all, Am I on the guest list of the wedding of the century? Tee hee, I'm in a silly mood now. We are just waiting on getting email and addresses and such. I've sent an email asking which address to send stuff to.
Well I might slowly (like a snail) make my way down to the mall now to get my book. Wish me luck, although I'm sufficiently well-slept (being sick and all) to stand in a queue for a while. That's a wierd word, isn't it, queue!
Challenge: Person who signs the guestbook with the wierdest word wins!
