Adrian and I went to Palmerston North last night to see Adrian's dad Paul and his partner Helen (they just got back from a trip to Europe). We looked at photos and played cards. On the way back we stopped at the Clydesdale place just after Shannon to get coffee and look at the animals. I had a yummy mocha and Adrian had tea, then I donned the provided gumboots and went into the animal pen. They had baby guinea pigs! And bunnnies, and the cool goat, and friendly chickens. I found a baby guinea pig! I must admit, I ambushed him a little and I feel guilty for taking advantage of the fact that he probably hasn't discovered how to elude humans yet (having only been in the pen for a day). But once I had him he didn't squeal at all he just sat there. I wanted to take him home. And the goat. But Adrian said no.
I also scored a bargain, there was a really cool oil-on-canvas on the wall of a clydesdale, in black and white. I asked how much it was (having just recieved my Teaching scholarship payment #2 and feeling rather frivolous) and the lady came back and said it was $85! I was in disbelief and said I'll have it straight away. Yay!
Work is going well, dare I say it. It is so busy, busier than any other retail I've done. There is barely time to do anything else but serve customers. And unfortunately, there is a lot else that needs to be done! Oh well.
Adrian and I are getting our arses into gear in wedding planning stuff. We booked an appointment with the jeweller who made my engagement ring to start thinking about wedding rings. Exciting! Also we have almost finished wording our invitations and after that we will start making them!
Bean is cute.
