Ramifications

That's a pretty cool word, ramification. It's been a few days since the burglary, and we've written a list for the police and insurance of all the stuff that was stolen. It's all very replaceable stuff, and none of it sentimental. The most expensive things were Claire's digital camera and accessories ($400+), my electric shaver ($380) and the stereo.

We were pretty shocked when it happened, but I think we're both over that now. We are organising with our landlord to install an alarm system, which both the policeman and the insurance company have recommended. The police have been pretty good, although it's not going to be easy to catch whoever did it. They established that the criminals were wearing gloves, so had at least some experience, and confirmed for us that they came in through the bathroom window.

So I guess now the real drama begins, dealing with the insurance company. Wish us luck.
