Well we're back from our Honeymoon! We had an amazing time in Hawaii, and our wedding day was really quite special. Everything just went so perfectly.
What is about to follow now is a mammoth blog about the last two weeks for us. In fact, I'm going to break it down into different posts for different parts of the trip, just to maintain a bit of chronological order. I'm a very organised guy, organistion pleases me. Unprofessional photos are scattered around as well, and since I anticipate there will be a large number of them, I'm going to let them speak for themselves. No pictures yet of either of us in dress/suit, although professional photos will soon be found at one2one's website.
A honeymoon generally starts with a wedding. This one day had over 14 grand spent on it, and we'd been planning it since September 2005 [*edit by Claire* Adrian actually proposed in September 2006] when I first proposed. As far as the morning goes, I can only give my side of the story, and that was that I was very relaxed. I think this was mostly due having everything so well planned beforehand, that all I had to do was put my clothes on and be at the venue on time. Granted, putting clothes on for the groom is much easier than the bride, and it only took me about 10 minutes. The rest of my morning I spent lounging about having lunch, and getting a cut-throat shave.
Waiting at the altar watching Claire come down the aisle was surreal. Claire was a bit of a mess of tears, but still stunning, and I had a struggle keeping my tears at bay. We had many of our guests comment on how beautiful our ceremony was, a few producing tears of their own.
Willow Glen did an excellent job with the garden, and I thought the food at the reception was great. Surprisingly neither Claire nor I had that much to drink over the night, we must have been on some super natural high. I'm glad our guests got to enjoy the bar tab though.
For the night we stayed at Paulownia Park Farm Bed & Breakfast where our host Lynn really made it special for us, scattering rose petals, candles and lavender around the rooms. Claire cried when she first saw it all. The following morning Claire got some time to visit the animals, before having lunch with family and traveling up to Auckland airport to leave for Honolulu, Hawaii.
EDIT: I don't intend to fiddle too much with the photos, so hopefully you can all read the blog around them ok.
