The continuation of life

Ah, such a dramatic title. I feel almost religious.

So much has happened since we got back from honeymoon. It's almost been 2 months, it's taken me that long to blog about our trip. I've been back at uni, but haven't encountered anything more strenuous than my online chess games really. I had a problem with a circuit board I'd made that was working back in December and no longer worked last week. I was well pleased when I managed to fix it, and now it's working better than ever. I celebrated by taking Claire out to an Indian restaurant for dinner. In fact, Indian food has been a pretty common thing for us lately, almost the default "don't feel like cooking tonight" meal. We even went out with Nic and Dave to a really nice Indian restaurant on Courtney Place which was cool.

We've had friends round for dinner: such a couply thing to do. And we went over to our neighbours for dinner, which was nice since in the past we haven't really had anything to do with our neighbours. They are vegetarians and the meal we had was really nice, with a lot of it coming from the own vege garden. It's actually inspired me to start my own vege garden, with radishes, broad beans, chives, and spring onions. I've no idea if they will work, but so far the radishes and beans seem to be doing the best. I'm concerned about what we're going to make for dinner when our neighbours come round to our house. Our meals pretty much centre around what kind of meat we're having, so I'll have to be a bit more creative.

Also we've finally had our telephone wiring go a step in the right direction. We no longer need a cable along the floor from the kitchen to the office to provide the internet. And the guy also installed some network cabling so we can easily plug computers in the other office and the lounge. The down side is that we can't get pay-per-view movies using our sky remote anymore. Not sure why since the phone jack it's plugged into seems to work fine, for a telephone at least, and I didn't think the sky decoder had anything more advanced than a simple dial-up modem.

We've printed off lots of wedding photos and honeymoon photos. Enough to fill a few albums as well as picture frames scattered around the house. If you missed the earlier mention of our wedding photographers website, I'll mention it again here: http://www.one2onephotography.co.nz/claireadrian/claireadrian.html

Our new photo frames can all sit on our brand new display cabinet that we bought. It's nice and solid and woodlike and makes our lounge look fancy. That and our new widescreen LCD TV. Yeah, we went a bit crazy after we got back, but we've calmed down a bit since.

Easter is looking like it'll be fun. Claire only has a two day week this week, and then her parents and sister are staying for a bit. I like any excuse to go out for dinner =) I'm also looking forward to a package that Darren is sending us, with his music video of our wedding. I think it's such a good idea, and the DVD is going to have lots of special features with our vows, wedding photos, honeymoon photos and pretty much everything that made our day and holiday so special.

Right now the weather is lovely, and we want to enjoy the sun while it's still here. Not looking forward to winter at all. So I'm going to sign off now and take my book (Eldest by Chris Paolini, the one that follows Eragon) down to the park for a read.
