My lovely is in Melbourne at the moment *sob* - I miss him lots. It's going to be aaaaaaaaaages before he comes back... and it's been aaaaaaaaages since he's been gone. OK, so he went yesterday morning and is coming back tomorrow night. It IS ages.
Tony Veitch is an egg.
I thought I'd blog because I haven't done so for awhile... but be warned I don't have much interesting news :P
My job is going o*k*.... I'm a little bored - a combination of getting used to a job where a lot of waiting on equipment is required, and also in a relaxed but professional work environment (which, don't get me wrong, I like!). Also, starting in a job like this has the capacity to make Claire feel a little dumb... but then I tell myself if I'm working with some of the top scientists in the country (world?) I'm bound to feel a little below average :P
If you're reading this, please leave a message in our guestbook or leave a comment when you're finished (or now if you want a break!). Our guestbook is looking a little bare lately :( And it's good to know who's reading.
Hmmm.... Less than two months til we go to Germany. Last week at work I spent a large part of the day searching for theme parks in Germany, checking out if they were on our planned route and what they're like. Turns out there are 2-3 we could go to. Exciting! As a side note... if anyone knows the theme park in Florida (?) which is set atop a tower can you please tell me>???? It's driving me a little crazy because about half of that half-day was spent googling Florida theme parks but I couldn't find it! I've been told about it and I want to look at pictures!
Adrian and I made curtains a little while ago, to see if they would keep the lounge warmer (the lounge leads into the kitchen where there is a window without any covering). Adrian learnt how to sew :) But seriously, we are so proud of them. They are really long cuz the gap was huge (over 2m) in chocolate (mmmm) coloured self-striped fabric. They're so pretty! Bean is good, thanks for asking. He misses Adrian I think. He went a little crazy just before - post-dinner hiperBean. He starts kicking and screaming at the curtains every once in a while and I have to remind him "Bean, those curtains are your friends. Please don't hurt them."

Say, who's that sexy librarian in the photo?
Hey I feel dumb at work sometimes too, and the only people at my office are the cat and a stuffed elephant called Doug.
Speaking of which, Kitty brought a live mouse into my room at 4:30 this morning and we spent 10 minutes chasing it around the bedroom until we lost it. I gave up adn went back to bed, then this afternoon I found the mouse under the blankets at the foot of my bed. I like to tell myself it got in there AFTER I got up this morning.
Oh and I finally put the blog I've been working on online at nathan.net.nz...it's still very much a work in progress but I figured I'd stick it up and see how much I can think of to write in it. And it makes me feel like I'm achieving something while I struggle to rebuild FlyingMonkey. So anyway, it's not exactly homemade curtains but still.
Hey,
Just saying hi. All is good over here. In one week we are off on a holiday to Scotland and Italy, which will be cool.
Glad to hear your new job is going well and I like the glasses!
All the best,
Sam
hi claire! i love the new glasses, they look a lot like mine!
about the theme park in florida, i think what you heard about was the Tower of Terror at Disneyworld. i would probably know about a theme park built on top of a tower (if that's what you meant) but i've never heard of anything like that. let me know if that's what you were talking about. i've actually been on Tower of Terror at Disneyworld and it's pretty cool.
