MY Research

It occurred to me today that I had rather a lot I could blog about, but that it all was only mediocre-ly exciting. So I decided to make it EXTRA exciting by putting it in a very non-artistic "poem" format (not the inverted commas). BUT it just so happens that Adrian decided to blog today too, so you HAVE TO read both, otherwise one of us will be put out.

Adrian and I went to Napier
nothing rhymes with Napier
we were chasing the sun
because sun always shines in Napier
Rapier rhymes with Napier
but that isn't relevant
to my story.

Anyway, Napier wasn't that sunny
but 'twas nicer than here
we found an Art Deco Festival
we toyed with joining in
but Adrian didn't have his top hat.

We saw a World War 2 spotlight
and ate lots of bad (good) food
and saw some sun on Sunday.
huh, sun on Sunday.
Funny that.

On a brighter note
[Brighter than the sun??!!]
today I did some calculus at work
I called my workbook "Claire Attempting Maths"
it was probably seventh form level,
or maybe first year uni
but it made me feel so invigorated
conquering a differential equation
is like a good comeback -
Ha! Take that! I got you!
(I'm such a nerd).

Conquering maths problems
reminds me of my youth.












In other news
my left hand is useful for something
... it can type numbers on a numberpad
nearly as fast as my right.

I got a hairdryer.
The new Harry Potter movie is out in December
the trailer is on youtube
It looks exciting
and Dan Carter still looks like Harry.

I got a new computer at work
It makes me feel old because
for the first time
the computer box is smaller than the monitor.
Awesome.












I went to a talk at work on "Millenials"
- those of us born after 1980.
One of the main things with Millenials is
"It's all about Me!"
I was hyped up afterwards
I didn't want him to stop talking
I got back to the lab
and spoke with someone
who didn't attend the talk
(cynical X-generation)
I couldn't stop thinking about
how interesting I found it
and then I realised why I liked it
- it was all about me.

Bean has been very naughty lately
someone has taught him
that jumping on the bench
and dining table
is OK.

He ate the chicken we were defrosting
while we were at work
earning his keep.
Ungrateful child.

So I pretended/ tried to be angry
and told him he had to be
an On-Top-Of-The-Bed cat tonight
(He knows what that means)
but he looked at me
with his crazy saucer eyes
and I gave in.

He'll always be
an Under-The-Covers cat
really.
