Hello everyone. I thought I'd report on our weekend for you.
As you know, Adrian's finger is in less than optimal shape. On Thursday afternoon he had surgery to try to make it more optimal. He was under general anaesthetic and very cute a sleepy when he rang me at 5.05pm to go get him. We were told he wasn't supposed to be alone for 24 hours after the anaesthetic so we decided that on Friday I would take a day off to Adrian-sit. I had an appointment that afternoon anyway for which I would have had to take time off so it wasn't too annoying.
On Friday Adrian was actually feeling fine, we just kept topping him up with panadol to keep the pain away. So we went into the Hutt to look at motorbikes and get excited again. We have received shitty service - well, just no service at all - from all the other motorbike shops we've been to except for our usual TSS in Lower Hutt and the Honda dealer in Palmerston North. Unfortunately there seems to be a lack of suitable model in the Honda department, and also they are very expensive, so at this point it looks like we will stay with TSS. This is actually quite a relief because it's a lot easier to just continue being a faithful customer with one motorbike shop. My latest obsession is a Kawasaki ER-6 which I can get in green (!) and seems to be more suited to me than it's brother the Ninja 650. Also a little cheaper. So I am getting excited about that one now.
On Saturday we missioned in to the city to continue looking at bikes and also have lunch. It was Valentine's day and I got a dozen red roses in the morning from my lovely :) We had two Courier visits, because Adrian also received a get-well basket from my Mum and Dad.
We had no service at Wellington Motorcycles, and none at Motorad, and this is when we made our decision that we would probably just stick with TSS from now on. It was still kind of fun looking though.
Yesterday I did my first fun run (in my case, fun jog/ fun walk) - the 7 km Wellington Round the Bays. I actually quite liked it, strangely enough. The weather was very good - gloriously sunny with a light wind. I got to the 4 km mark and decided I wanted to try to make it in under an hour but wasn't sure if I'd be able to. Reached the 5 km mark and was still trying. Missed the 6 km mark and turned a corner and there was the finish line! I was very proud. My official time was 54 min 24 sec and I came 2775th (Dominion Post says there was >9000 altogether). Adrian walked because of his hand and he did about 1 hr 6 min (very fast walking!).
Adrian's dad happened to be in Wellington so he picked us up, which was very handy as the traffic was nuts and the line for the free bus was masssssssive. He took us to lunch in Eastbourne in the lovely sunshine.
This morning Adrian has had his cast taken off and now has just a smaller splint. We also (finally) got MySkyHD installed this morning (was meant to happen early January but they ran out of boxes) so Adrian was rather excited about that.
I think that's all for now... remember to leave us comments/ sign the guestbook :)

It's like a non-stop journey of drama and excitement, pain and triumph.
Good on you guys for the running and walking, in good weather it's the best way to get anywhere. Well, maybe second best after a golf cart. And even though people refuse to admit it, Segways are alot of fun too.
What a busy weekend. Good on you for doing so well in the jog/run and to Adrian for walking with his disability!! Sounds as though it was a fun weekend.Hope that bike isn't TOOOOO big that you are looking at!!
