F**k property managers are dicks! Do they think that because they rent you shit houses for a ridiculous price and you have to accept it that they can treat you like horrid, grubby children? This is a conversation I had with the same lady whom I rang last week to make an appt for a rental we saw on Miromiro rd in Normandale.
Conversation:
D: So Claire, what is it that you're looking for... what is it that you didn't like about the Miromiro Rd property?
C: Well, um, we thought it was kind of untidy and the property was a bit dark, not really as sunny as we're looking for right now.
D: Oh. OK. Well, I recommend that you do a driveby of this one, just to see what it's like. It's at ... [given address].
C: [pause]. OK. Um, can we just make an appointment to view now or is it difficult for you to arrange that?
D: Well, you need to have a look at the area.
C: My cousin lives on that road, so I do know it a little bit.
D: [long pause = awkward silence] Well, it's adjoining another property so you do need to have a look first.
C: OK! Right, thanks.
Grr!! Nothing makes me want to buy our own house more than to not have to deal with condescending f**king property managers. I mean, can't we already see what it's like from the photos on Trade me? Isn't that the point of them? Does she WANT to let the property or not? Just because we didn't like some other pokey one, does she think it's not worth showing us any more? To be honest, I don't think she can really be bothered with people who aren't robots. Also, if she thinks the properties aren't worth showing... doesn't that mean she's in the wrong job?
I don't think I'm the right kind of person to deal with property managers. I don't think I have yet come across one who has spoken to me with respect.
Am I just not respectable?

Oh chicky i know what you mean we are dealing with the exact same kind of crap at the moment it drives me nuts unfortunately we dont have a choice to buy a house right now but hun i wish you luck with your hunting!!
