- curry in Tauranga for lunch
- catching up with Kelly and meeting Toby
- there was a cat clled Lucy asleep in our room upon arrival at the Cat's Pyjamas backpackers in Whitianga
- fish and chips which we waited about 45 minutes for because they were so busy
- fruit for breakfast
- took windy Russell Road to Russell, then on car ferry
- stayed at fancy B&B Te Manaaki (our flashest place this holiday)
- had harbourside dinner at Sally's... yum. Bottle of wine, perfect chicken breast and yuuuuuuuuuum chocolate fondant for dessert (yum sunshine too). Watched fancy people in their boats and
- saw a guy around our age driving a hot-ass yellow Ferrari F1 330 which was both inspiring and annoying
- home-made plunger coffee by my lovely husband while still in bed
- waterfront berry waffles for breakfast
- car ferry to Paihia - a first for me and quite choice
- Waitangi treaty grounds visit.
- watch a tui in a pohutukawa tree singing at Waitangi (ultimate Kiwi experience?)
- watching teenagers jumping off a cliff-hanging tree into an inlet (looked quite fun)
- Makana chocolate factory visit (Kerikeri) - recommended by Sarah Thompson. We bought dark choc dipped cherries and butter macadamia toffee crunch
- lunch from the supermarket overlooking a wedding marquee being set up for the afternoon
