Our road trip

So here's our road trip plan for Christmas.
  1. Hope for sunshine
  2. Leave Wgtn afternoon of xmas eve for a night in Napier
  3. Drive to Dad in Opotiki on Christmas day. Stay for two nights.
  4. Visit Kelly in Whitianga. Stay for a night.
  5. Really really hope for good weather, because the drive from Whitianga to Russell is rather long. Stay in Russell for a night.
  6. Visit Adrian's Dad in Rawene. Stay two nights.
  7. Go to Henderson Bay for New Year's Eve
  8. Go back to Rawene and stay with Adrian's Dad for another two nights (/go back to Opotiki? Guess it depends on the weather)
  9. Heading home, stay in Tokaanu (mmmm hot springs) for a night. 
  10. Drive back to Wgtn. 
I've never been north of about Orewa I think so am looking forward to seeing more of the north. It'll probably be much warmer (and hopefully sunnier) than the last few Christmas holidays I've had. I'm back to work on the 5th (Tuesday).

Mum and Anna leave for the UK for Christmas today, hence why I'm saying 'visit Dad' in the notes, cos he's the only one there! I'm sure Alfie will keep him company.

That sounds awesome.

P.S. Love your post about cicadas. I like them, they sound nice in the summertime. But a couple years ago we had an outbreak of locusts and they were EVERYWHERE. You couldn't even walk on the sidewalk without stepping on them. They were disgusting. One flew in my car and I about died. Cicadas I don't mind but locusts I hate. I wonder if your cicadas are the same as ours. Aren't you glad I wrote a huge comment about cicadas?
