I don't even know if anyone reads this anymore. I don't get comments. Not even on my poems anymore, and for that reason I think I'm not going to post anymore, because I am actually quite sensitive about them. And if no-one posts comments, I see that as a bad thing - either it was 'just ok' and doesn't warrant spending a few seconds on a comment, or it was bad, and no-one wants to hurt my feelings. Either way, I don't like that response, so I figure I'll just write them in my notebook and make sure I'm happy with them myself.
Aside from that, what really gets my heckles up is this. It is the latest idea from doofus Steven Joyce. HOW are these people in Parliament? We are supposed to be democratic, right, which means basically we have the responsibility of voting for whose in. So, I think that means the politicians think they can do whatever the f*** they want, since they're in parliament and there's nothing you can do about it na-na-na-nah-nah. In this, the previous article I read, it says "He said Cabinet would consider changes to the give way rule later in the year and public input would be sought." That article is from ThePress.co.nz, whereas the aforementioned one is from the Dominion Post (both, however, on the Stuff website, and both released on the same day). So there are a couple of problems here: 'Later in the year' is NOT the same day. Also, public input? Where?
baaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh you'll be sorry I started on this topic.
"The Automobile Association says the rules are a factor in 2560 intersection crashes, and one or two deaths, each year. Some 17 percent of crashes are at intersections."
OK, first off, to be fair that is not a large percentage. Sure, if I was somehow connected to one of those 'one or two deaths' I may feel differently. Are there other causes of crashes that represent a larger percentage?
"It is estimated changing the rules to align with other countries would reduce intersection crashes by 7 percent and the social cost by about $17 million a year."
OK, but has anyone thought about the fact that changing the rules in itself might cause MORE crashes? And should we be caring about the recent immigrants or tourists, instead of the happiness and safety of our own people?
I kind of agree that some of the rules are not that logical, especially the one in the bottom diagram here. But to me that does not constitute changing them. Changing them will just confuse all the people who didn't give a f*** about the road rules anyway, and those who are just too dumb to realise that they do actually matter.
So, the real problem is dumbasses on the road. But the politicians would not be able to agree on a way to solve that, now would they? WAIT, hang on, how about offering them an incentive?
Yes, let's give all the dumb people MORE MONEY, in this case, specifically for being hideous, sick and murderous parasites on our society.
Perhaps I should stop reading Stuff.
On the other hand, it gives me something to get my heckles up about, which makes me feel alive. Even if my views may be ill-founded.
By the way, I'm not going to be able to finish my sister's 2009 Christmas present by the time I see her this weekend. *sigh*
So, goodbye, myself, since you are the only one reading.

NOw , now. I do normally comment on your blogs and poems. I think they are both wonderful. I think maybe the reason you are not getting so many comments on your blog is that you also put the articles on FB and that's where people put their comments. I know that is what I have been doing lately. So so keep up the good work as we do love it all and I promise to comment in both places.
