Monday Kiwiana

I know it's superficial Maori, being translated from quite a British-y song, but I'm still proud I know it.

E ihoa atua

O nga iwi matou ra

Ata whakarongo na

Me aroha noa

Ki a hua ko te pai

Ki a tatou atawhai

Manaa ki tia mai

Aotearoa

So I wrote that out of my head. 

Then I checked it on the net to see if I got much wrong:

E Ihowa Atua, (Ihoa) [alternative spelling is fine, yay!]
O ngā iwi mātou rā,
āta whakarongona; [spelling]
Me aroha noa.

Kia hua ko te pai; [spelling]
Kia tau tō atawhai; [spelling]

And I didn't know this, but that's only one out of five verses! O well, I still must be above average since I at least know the first part ;)

So I got some of the spellings wrong, and capitals and stuff. To be fair, I knew where some of the macrons went, but I'm pretty sure blogger's editor would have made it difficult to do.
