celebrations in Greytown

Last weekend Adrian and I went to Greytown. Mum bought us a night at the White Swan as a birthday present for Adrian and it was a surprise until we actually arrived at the hotel. It was kind of a double celebration for Adrian's birthday and him (very close to) finishing his PhD. It was fun for me to keep the secret and not have him know where we were going, and it was a really nice night away.

When we got to the room there was a handwritten note saying there was bubbles for us to enjoy, waiting in the fridge, from Mum and Dad! That was another awesome surprise (that I didn't know about either!). They were pretty nice too, those bubbles, not as dry as others I've tasted. So we drank most of the bottle (haha) then went down for our dinner booking.
Next morning we had breakfast at a most delightful Vintage Tearooms on the main street (Adrian reading the paper, above). I haven't been there before. The lady said they'd been open for about a year. They had English bone china teacups and saucers, a large tea selection, floral wallpaper and decor. It was just lovely! Made it more interesting than a normal cafe. Adrian had a 'traditional English breakfast' which included the best bacon I have ever tasted.

Lovely night/morning in Greytown. Then back home to reality ;)
