New Year's Eve was in Ohakune for Adrian and I. We stayed in a cute motel with a beautiful view of Mt Ruapehu. Had sausages, coleslaw and wine for dinner, watched a movie and played cards!
(find me behind the carrot!)
On the second we attended the wedding of Bex and Ants at Trentham race course in Upper Hutt. There are lots of photos on other peoples' Facebook pages (since I didn't take my camera) of the beautiful bride, groom, flower girl, surroundings and guests. I had a wonderful day, and everything went smoothly and well.
We stayed with friends Anna and Luke in Petone (thanks again!) and it was very nice seeing them again.
I have a sick mouse at the moment :( Nano is nearing the end of her litle life at the grand old age of about 2 and a half. She has become very tired, inactive and not eating or drinking much, so we'll see how she goes over the weekend.
As for me at home, I have been keeping vaguely busy with crafts (sewing and making cards mostly), Christmas shopping (before Christmas obviously), catching up on crappy TV, writing letters, reading. I get a bit lonely though - dealing with only myself all day can get a bit much, haha!
Yesterday Adrian and I decided it was time for us to go beach-swimming, since it seems a popular pasttime around here, and it's been really hot. My problem is that I cannot remember the last time that I went beach-swimming. There are many reasons for me to be afraid:
- sharks
- jellyfish
- currents
- crabs
- sharp, unexpected rocks on the floor
- my thighs.
Beach: 1. Claire and Adrian: 0.
Love x
