With hugs and love and gifts,
when I was young, you came
to spend time with your grandkids
on the Other Side
We visited you at home
and spent more time together
Touring, eating, laughing,
and getting to know you better.
I wish I could have had more time
and visits with you, Grandma
Still, I have my memories
and they’ll be there forever.
For now I’d like to think you might be
on a comfy deck chair
sitting upon a sunny shoreline
under a pohutukawa,
eating a hokey pokey ice cream.
