Bruges

Sorry about the format, this is coming from my iphone. I feel really bad that I have not finished writing about our May-June holiday! The last stop was Bruges between June 13 and 15, before we flew back to Auckland. Bruges was absolutely lovely and we really enjoyed ourselves. Here's a summary of what we did:

*Brewery tour at De Halve Maan brewery, Bruges' only surviving brewery and in the 5th generation of ownership by the same family (Maas).
*Canal boat tour
*The famous Belfry tower with lovely views and the fascinating carrillion at the top.
*Church of our Lady
*Self-Guided Walk - this was one of the most fun things. Our Bruges guidebook had 3 self-guided tours and we did 2 by foot and 1 by bike.
*Bike hire - went to see the 'edge' of Bruges and the windmills.
*Diamond museum and diamond cutting demo
*Chocolate museum 'Choco-Story'

When we got back to NZ we re-watched the movie In Bruges to see all the bits of the city which appear in the movie :)
