Popular

First of all, take a look at our cute bean.

The Live Earth concerts are on TV at the moment. It reeks of massive worldwide propaganda. Disregarding the actual topic, Hitler would be proud. My problem with all of the thousands of arguments they are presenting about how "Climate change is the greatest challenge of our world today" is it is all so one-sided.

All of the celebrities they parade in front of us with little tips on planting bamboo in your backyard and fishing plastic from the ocean to recycle it, they all come across as paid puppets to me.

Popular opinion says climate change is happening, and based on the number of scientists that agree on it I tend to go with them. So popular opinion agrees, therefore celebrities agree because they will operate based on popular opinion to become more popular themselves. More people watch and agree with celebrities than scientists, so even more people agree with popular opinion. What's more popular than popular? Right, Pop music. Hell, throw that in there too.

Say and read 'popular' often enough, and it's kind of a funny word.

So I guess we have a situation where climate change is probably happening, has it gone so far that it can be fixed? Is there a very slim chance that if the world invests billions of dollars into this it can be corrected? Who will the world invest these billions of dollars into, ie, who benefits? Just as war benefits weapons manufacturers, I feel that someone stands to make alot of money from all this, regardless of whether or not the threat is real, or if counter measures are succesful.

I'm just a cynical guy.

Hi!

I just found your blog and I decided to leave a comment. What a beautiful cat, I love animals. My oldest brother had a cat which I loved vey much but unfortunately they had to give it to another family because of the place where they live. Cat couldn't be free outside because of the neighbour had a dog and that cat loved to be free out there. Now it's somewhere else and I miss her. She was a very special cat:) Shit, I say:)

I have my own tw blogs here at

I read in a Science Book™ that the whole of civilisation has happened in an unusually mild period during an ice age...kind of like today, we're just having a sunny, slightly warm day in the middle of winter. So sooner or later the warm weather will end we'll be plunged back into ice.
But the point is, the whole time humans have been here has been unusually cold anyway. They reckon it's unusual for the earth to have permanent ice on the poles at all. So really, all global warming is doing is speeding up nature to get back to normal, which will happen eventually with or without us.

It's scary to think that means Humans are a niche species that possibly wouldn't even survive earth's natural state.
