After breakfast Adrian had a spa appointment - "Shave of all Shaves" which included a facial, shave and haircut. I went back to bed for a quick nap because I had quite a bad night's sleep (boat was rocking a lot!).
We had coffee, played bingo (still no win!) and had lunch.
In the theatre was this weird seahorse-racing game there it was set up like real horse racing bets, with 6 wooden seahorses which passengers 'bought' for $250 each in the hope their new horse would win the race! It was done by dice and moving along spaces on a big board on the stage. Bizarre but slightly entertaining!
After the horse racing was a hilarious game of celebrity heads with some of the cruise ship staff (them trying to guess which celebrity name was taped to their foreheads). Then bingo again! It was the final hand and the jackpot had to go! $11200. Wouldn't that be nice. But no, we still didn't win anything. I was quite angry >:|
After tea the Pacific Cirque people did another show called La Vignette. Beautiful and impressive as ever.
Another production variety show called Starry Starry Night and then the Pacific Popstars final. There had been heats going on throughout the cruise and this was the final 6. 2 of them were Kiwis and they were the best 2. No bias here (maybe a small amount): one of them got the best praise from the judges after singing My Funny Valentine (I could have listened to her all night) and the other got the only standing ovation, singing Unchained Melody after telling us he was on the cruise with his wife for their 25th wedding anniversary. How sweet!
That rounded off the cruise and we were reluctant and quite sad to go to bed. We met some cool people (the seating arrangements at dinner are mostly 4 and 6 people tables do you don't really have a choice!). Unfortunately I don't remember most of their names. Maria from Sydney but originally Argentina, Marnie and her boyfriend from Newcastle, Troy and his wife from Bathhurst, and lots more neat people.
Thanks P&O and Pacific Pearl for a marvellous holiday!
