Died waiting for longjmp.

I've spent the last week at Uni figuring out this stupid error in the software for my gadgetry. Since I'll be needing to test my stuff up in Hamilton the Uni has lent me a laptop, so I've had to install all the stuff I need onto it. Much easier said than done.

I'd googled my error and found some solutions, applied the solutions and was getting no luck. I'd even opened up a tech support query with the software vendor, and the reply came back the same as the info I'd found by google. Then I tried a public web forum hosted by the vendor to ask other developers if they'd come across it. The best bit of advice was along the lines of "I don't suppose you have a logitech webcam installed? The drivers for it have been known to cause this error". Well, what do you know, I DID have a logitech camera installed, and uninstalling it DID in fact solve my problem. I hate to think how anyone could have done any problem solving before the internet.

In other news, the ABS warning light has come on in my car. I've taken it to the mechanic who brought in a specialist to diagnose it. Long story short, it naturally came to the most expensive conclusion: ABS pump needs to be sent up to Auckland to be repaired. Sure, I could flag it since I pretty much never need the ABS brakes, but I'd still fail a warrant with that warning light on. And who knows, maybe I'll sorely miss not having ABS brakes some time. Looks like I'll be back to bussing and training to Uni for a week.

I've booked and paid for my flight to Europe in September. Despite not having yet proposed to Claudia, Colin is getting married. In Germany, in September. I'll be flying in to Amsterdam on September the 8th, and out again on the 27th. I can't be away from uni for too long, especially at that time of year since I'll have courses to teach, but I figure I wasn't going to fly all the way to Europe for anything less than 3 weeks.
