photos to tell a story

the marienbrucke mentioned below, taken from a window on the 2nd or 3rd floor of the castle.

colin, adrian and i all went off to wank together. no shit, there is actually a town called wank in southern germany. the best giggle (complete with tears) that i have had for a while. we drove past the turnoff and i said with genuine dissapointment "o, are we not actually going to wank?" tee hee funny. but we did go in.

this is actually a road sign, on the road. in holland, on our way from germany to eindhoven in holland to meet colins parents who had just arrived from nz. really? cars on the road? holy crap, i never would have thought.

the photo taken from marienbrücke.

this is the photo at the deutsche - oosterreich border (austria). we drove past it and adrian piggybacked me to the sign coz i didnt have shoes on. cool huh! thats a long way.

this is the Residenz we went to in würzburg which claudia recommended. its a unesco world heritage site. kind of reminded me of hampton court in london. inside was beautiful stucco decorations on ceilings, paintings on the ceilings, views out the windows of the city etc. it was very cool. also, it was bombed a lot during ww2 and they had talks and exhibitions on how the restoration was being done. it seems a bit like the effort to resurrect the acropolis, because it just seems like it will take forever. a good effort !

adrian and colin being funny buggers in the residenz gardens. cute photo! look at adrians belly and colins face.

heres another photo of the castle. this was taken from the Marienbrücke which is a bridge a really really long way up in a gorge. i will put a photo of that too.the photos are hard to put in order, especially with a laptop touchpad, so i will just talk about them and im sure you can figure it out. the top photo is the one taken from the bridge.

everything is a bit mixed up here, sorry again but im sure some of you know how annoying it can be to manipulate a touchpad on a laptop if youre not used to it.

yesterday adrian went to colins stag party day, which he can tell you about later. i went to münster with claudia, sophia, hans and ginny (colins parents). it was pretty cool, we just walked around the shops and strangely enough i didnt feel like spending money but was just enjoying looking at the shops. we went to a gummy bear shop (claudia says every average sized city will have one of these shops devoted to gummy bears). so i bought a few pressies and a little gummy bear shopping bag for .75 € WHICH will become my new lunch bag at work. we had drinks and snacks in the botanical gardens behind the town castle which as it happens now houses the towns university. cool huh, makes even otago university sound a bit dumb. we went to a eis-cafe for lunch - eis = icecream. maybe mum should not read this but we had eis for lunch - i had "lasagne eis" which was eis pumped out in a lasagne pattern, with whipped cream underneath which starts to freeze under the eis (yum!) and then with lots and lots of strawberry sauce and strawberries and other berries on top. yum, twas so good. needless to say, we didnt need a proper lunch after that.

enough for now, you may hear from adrian next. love xxx
