O Wellington, why is it so cold?
All rugged up in my thermals, I feel so old
Sun makes me happier, smiley and nice
Warmth makes my skin tingle like spice
Port Nicholson, does it have to rain?
Even the ducks think it's a pain
So close up those rainclouds and let out some sun
Then the wee ducklings will have much more fun
Te Whanga-nui-a-Tara, why are you so grey?
It's the third day of summer today
I should be wearing one layer, not three
But I don't have a choice with this damn southerly
O small town of mine, your seasons so skewed
November is cold and December is too
But wait until March; barbecue weather
ah Wellington, better late than never
