I'll have to be a bit quicker today because I think there are people hanging around waiting to get on the net.
Today is our last day in Austin. The Texans have been very friendly and proud people. Adrian said "i have to say, hearing everyday Texan accents has made me see them in a new light - I really thought that accent was just a sign of being really... really dumb." Hahahahha! They probably think we are dim-witted too, with our accents. But no, they are very friendly and accommodating, including the general public. Only seen a few crazies on buses/at bus stops.
This morning we went to the Texas State History Museum. It was pretty good - turns out it's Texas State History Day 2010 today! So the museum was packed with school group tours. It was pretty freakin' hot today as well. The high was forecast at 94 degF = 34 degC. I've never been anywhere this hot! Closest was perhaps the Gold Coast at the start of December, which was actually quite pleasant I think.
This afternoon we have been lazing, Adrian had a nap and we might go to the pool soon. We booked a tour to the Everglades for Sunday - they will pick us up from our hotel at about 9.30am and it lasts for 4 hours so that will be pretty cool. We get a ride on the airboat and a 'wildlife show' as well as seeing things in their natural habitat - alligators, snakes etc. Yay! Looking forward to that.
Then on Monday we will board the cruise ship. Not sure what our internet access will be like from then - this free (though limited) access at the Hilton in Austin was a bonus - we didn't realise the room we'd booked came with it included.
So bye for now, will blog again if/when I can.
Love xxx

You'll love the Everglades...and of course, the cruise. Must be a rough life! (-;
Any creature comforts you'd like while you're with us? Tea or drinks or snacks or anything I can put in your apartment (which is right across the hall from ours...it'll be like we're neighbors!)
