Day 2: Sydney/ boarding ship

Walk around Darling Harbour and have breakfast overlooking the water. Adrian was pretty happy with $12 bacon + eggs + coffee.

Go onboard the Vampire destroyer and Onslow submarine which are part of the National Maritime Museum. These were really cool and the tickets were relatively cheap. Also there was pretty much no one else there so we were just walking around the ship by ourselves. It was in service in the 1950s-70s I think. Thd medical bay was suitably torturous looking!

Wildlife Experience. Like a zoo in Darling Harbour! It was neat, I enjoyed it more than the aquarium (because fuzzy things always win) but Adrian still liked the dugongs best. At the zoo there were gorgeous 'dunnarts' and 'feather tailed gliders' which I could have stared at forever. Also koalas, kookaburras, wallabies, kangaroos, cassowaries, snakes, a crocodile and more.

After lunch: boarding the ship! Pacific Pearl by P&O. Capacity 1817 passengers. Length 246 m. Tonnage 63524. Crew: 727.

We were onboard and exploring by around 3pm. At 6 the ship left the pier in Darling Harbour. Sailing under the bridge was amazing! VERY close to the underside of the bridge. And not-usually-seen angles of the opera house.

After dinner we had an early night and slept well.
