Copenhagen -Day 1 May 19th

So Adrian and I are on our latest adventure.  We arrived in Copenhagen and got the Metro to Hotel Ibsens in the city. They had to stick us in a tiny tiny room because there was a mix up with the booking but we got moved to a bigger room today. Also they gave us 2 free breakfasts and a free drink each for the mix up. Breakfast was great too, apparently award-winning "Breakfast in a Glass", and had packed sandwiches we took in my bag for lunch too.  It's pretty cold here, went out in tshirt, jersey and scarf but really needed a jacket. This morning after breakfast we walked along a canal towards the city. At the airport we bought 'Copehagen cards' which give you entry to a whole lot of stuff, and discounts to other things. Free public transport too. We went on an hour long canal cruise this morning and then to Christiansborg Palace and Ruins. Basically the Palace there today is the third one of that name to be at the site. The others both burned down, but there has been a 'Christiansborg Slot' there for the last 350 years. Beneath the present palace there are ruins of the previous two, and they have made it into an exhibition. Fascinating, and I've never been anywhere like that before.  We have free wifi in our hotel in Copenhagen. We are staying for 4 nights in total then embarking on our cruise. I will try to blog but it's from my iPhone so that's why it is short and may have errors.  Love x

Sounds wonderful! I want to go on a canal cruise in Copenhagen! Like my alliteration? I'm finishing up your letter and you should have it at your new house by the time you get back! xoxo
